Project info
Trame di Luce is one of the most important Light Art Festivals, where internationally renowned artists create luminous installations. Held for the past three years in the stunning setting of the Rome Botanical Garden, the festival attracted over 160,000 visitors in its 2023 edition alone.
This new edition - the most international ever - features one of the most fascinating and complex installations: Aetherea, created in collaboration with professors and students from the Master's program in Lighting Design at Sapienza University of Rome.
Aetherea is a light-based representation of the Fountain of the Tritons, an ideal location where the element of water meets the element of earth, generating life symbolically depicted through the visualization of a tree.
Water, on a symbolic level, is associated with emotions, memory, and the unconscious, while earth, represented by trees, stands for grounding, structure, and stability. These two seemingly distant realms are, in reality, in constant and dynamic dialogue.
